The Degerby Gille inn is a banqueting facility available by prior arrangement with a romantic, historic atmosphere. The oldest room of Degerby Gille dates back to the 17th century. If you are lucky, you’ll hear the ghostly noises of the room. Believe it or not, the personnel of Degerby Gille have really heard the ghost in the upstairs of the building! Join the famous company; in addition to the ghost, the Swedish-Finnish kings and several Finnish presidents have visited the farm. Degerby Gille has always been one of the main attractions in Loviisa. The inn’s interesting history adds its own flavour to the delicious dining moments.
After Midsummer, the Gille is open on Sat from 12 PM to 5 PM, and on holidays such as Labour Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas, the restaurant serves a special lunch. The strengths of Degerby Gille are its local traditional food and meals with French touch. The famous Saaristolaispöytä of Gille serves pike-perch, arctic char and other fish meals. You can get a taste of Lapland’s romantic atmosphere by ordering a reindeer roast. In autumn, the chefs of Gille head to the Ainola hunting farm in Ylitornio to hunt elks. Do you wish to enjoy delicious elk meat that has been completely prepared on site?
You can book the Degerby Gille for small or bigger groups. The meal will be served according with your wishes. Gille is, in fact, nowadays a popular spot for weddings, festive dinners and business lunches. A special business lunch is served on Thursdays, don’t forget to book a table!
